Lucas has decided he would like a few extra bucks in his wallet. He has noticed that Jacob has been returning pop cans and getting money in return. Lucas wants a piece of that pie. So, almost everyday he collects the empty pop cans out of the recycling and puts them in a garbage bag. We have been to Albertson's three times this week to return cans. The first two times we went to cash in the receipt he came away with $2.00 each time. The look of disgust and disappointment on his face was priceless. He just could not understand that ALL those cans only produced two bucks! I tried to explain that they are only worth 5 cents each and you need a lot of cans to get the kind of money he would like. So, today was our third trip to return more cans. As we were getting ready to leave for the store, Lucas said to me "can we turn our slip into a different guy at the store...I think he'll give us more money". Oh, if only that were true.
P.S. I asked Lucas what he is saving his money for...his relpy "a massage". (He'll be seven next week)

Stacey, it is a little disappointing to have to save sooooooo many cans for soooooo little money...but to save for a massage brings a little mystery into the situation...didn't you tell him that Mom's usually give massages for FREE? LOL Maybe he wants to surprise you and get YOU a massage! Now the trips to the market to redeem those cans are more precious than ever! ha ha
